Desert Camp in Jaisalmer

Experience Luxury Desert Camping at Sam Sand Dunes

About the camp

A heritage camp in the golden heart of the Thar

Jaisalmer, the Golden City where the forts are still alive, has a way of slowing you down. Jaisan Heritage Desert Camp was created to make that slower pace easy: a calm, unhurried base on the Sam Sand Dunes for exploring the Royal Desert City.

Watch the sunrise and sunset from the top of the dunes, ease into an armchair on the verandah, and let evenings unfold with folk music and snacks in the courtyard. Our tents have a cosy king-size bed and an attached, contemporary washroom with toiletries provided, and camel or jeep safaris leave right from the back of the camp. On request, we also host candle-light dinners out on the dunes.

Why choose us

Why guests choose our desert camp in Jaisalmer

More than a campground: we keep the customs of our ancestors and reinterpret them for travellers today.

Right on the Sam Sand Dunes

Wake up on the dunes themselves and watch sunrise and sunset from the top of the sand, a short walk from your tent.

A heritage courtyard layout

Tents are arranged around a large sandy courtyard, inspired by Rajputana homes and the lifestyle of Jaisalmer’s royal families.

Safaris from the back of the camp

Camel and jeep safaris start right behind the camp, so there is no transfer between your tent and the dunes.

A traditional welcome

Arrive to the beat of the dhol, a tilak and a welcome drink, the way guests have been received in Rajasthan for generations.

Evenings by the fire

Live Rajasthani folk music and dance, a campfire in the courtyard and a vegetarian Rajasthani buffet dinner.

Thoughtful comforts

King-size beds, attached washrooms with toiletries, hot and cold water, room service and free car parking.
